Our mission at Seedlings Health is to provide excellent, nurturing family centered care in the comfort of your own home.  To that end, we offer a variety of services, both traditional and complementary, to care for young families. By coming into your home, in-person and via Telehealth, telephone and text visits we can offer you the best combination of personalized medical care and compassionate treatments to achieve optimal health for mothers, fathers, birth partners, infants and siblings.  When our families thrive, we thrive.

Seedlings Health accepts patients whether they have insurance or not.  We are dedicated to serving everyone who needs our care.  Please inquire about payment options so that we can discuss your unique circumstances.  Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Medicare or Medicaid patients at this time.  We do not bill insurance or participate in any insurance plans and Seedlings Health is currently considered out-of-network for all insurance plans.  We are able to create super-bills for you to submit to your insurance.  Most likely you can use your HSA (or FSA) to pay for our services.  As apart of a network of independent physicians and small practices, we are in groups that provide deeply discounted lab and drug pricing to our patients so that the costs are much less than you would typically pay with insurance.

Seedlings Health is a mobile health service based out of Tucson, AZ.  We are available to patients in all of central and southern AZ, but visits outside of the Tucson area will insure additional transportation fees if an in-person visit is necessary.

Meet Dr. Stevenson

  • Dr. Autumn Stevenson is a family physician with a passion for natural health and wellness. She believes that when we let our food be our medicine, our health flourishes. As such, she believes that, undeniably, the basis of our health lies in our first food—human milk.

Her love of stories and patients of all ages steered Dr. Stevenson toward Family & Community Medicine.  She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson, in 2007, and completed her residency training at the University of New Mexico in2010. Her primary interest within family medicine has always been Maternal-Child Health. After graduation, she worked in a variety of settings—Indian Health Service, community clinics, and as an assistant professor at the University of Arizona—practicing full-spectrum family medicine including obstetrics, newborn care, and lactation support.

“My third baby had severe oral-motor dysfunction and never was able to nurse at the breast.  After more than 10 years of catching babies, I left the obstetrical practice of medicine to spend more time with my family.  And, I decided to focus my interests on the divine dyad in caring for them during the under-cared for, under-acknowledged, under-served fourth trimester.  I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant to be able to help mothers and babies with all the many difficulties there can be in the breastfeeding relationship.  Even though nursing is best for you & your baby, it isn’t always easy.”

Having nursed, pumped, and exclusively pumped for her three children, she brings both herpersonal and professional experience to each family she supports.  Dr. Stevenson has also completed specialized training in peripartum mental health (link to PSI listing) acknowledging that as many as one in five families will struggle with depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders during pregnancy and after birth. As a family physician with years of experience in newborn care, she is in a unique position to care for both moms and infants in the fourth trimester.  Through the nurturing support and care that each new family needs, she helps postpartum moms feel confident, empowered, and honored during this special time in life.  Her goal is to help get your newborn off to the best start in life.

“I just love newborns!  I always have.  But, damn, they are hard.  The hours, days, weeks and months after birth are such a whirl wind of tears, blood, and well, poop.  It’s a time when we are getting to know the little human we have just been gifted, but its also a time when we have to relearn who we are.  And whether its after your first birth or your fifth, there’s always a new you, a new mother, a new father, a new family who has to be reborn.  I’m here to help you with that process.”

In her free time, Dr. Stevenson enjoys playing with and loving on her husband and children. They love biking, hiking, traveling, and movie nights. Dr. Stevenson loves socializing, dancing, yoga, lap swimming, and making healthy meals. When she isn’t connecting with family and friends, she’s learning something new to share with her patients. And when you meet her, be prepared to laugh!
